Compel’s System Engineers have a wide range of expertise and experience in computers and networking, as well as specialist skills in laptop and printer repairs and servicing.
Between them they have over 100 years experience in the computer industry. Many of our staff have had corporate experience and have now chosen to work in a smaller team where strong client relationships are important.

Managing Director – Graeme Arlidge
Starting in sales, Graeme has a wealth of experience having run his own IT business in Hamilton for over 20 years. Graeme combined his business, sales, and technical expertise with Compel in October 2007 and can now provide a greater wealth of experience and support to all our clients.

Technical Director – Thomas Beier
Thomas began his IT experience in 1988 at the University of Giessen managing public user rooms and serviced by Novell servers with up to one hundred users. Later he ran his own small IT company before he moved to NZ and started with Compel in August 2001. After a small break of 2 years, he has rejoined us in 2008.
Experience/duties:
- Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA)
- Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE)
- Network Design and Implementation
- Novell Netware versions 2.01 to 4.11
- Exchange 5.5 to 2010 expertise
- Medical Software Set-up experience with MedTech 32 and HealthLink
Service Co-ordinator & Printer Engineer - Martin Lambert
Started with Compel in November 2002, after spending 25 years with Unisys Ltd on assignments from Field Engineer to Technical Support to Escalation Management in the global environment.
Experience/duties:
- Repair and servicing of all brands of printers including Hewlett Packard, Oki, Panasonic, Citoh, Canon, Brother, Lexmark, Epson, and Intermec specialist printers
- Printer types include Laser, Dot Matrix, Inkjet printers, and Thermal printers
- Repair and service of plotters
- Notebook, Laptop and Desktop repairs
- Repair and servicing of Oki faxes
Senior Systems Engineer – Russell Stark
Russell has had many years in the hospitality industry and joined Compel late 2003, after completing Comptia A+, Network+, and NZQA L3 Computing. He is a Microsoft Certified Professional.
Experience/duties:
- Microsoft Windows 2000 / XP / Vista / Windows 7 installation and configuration.
- PC Hardware servicing
- Specialist in virus and spyware removal
- Network set-up server installation and configuration
- Service of inkjet printers and laser printers
Systems Engineer – Dave Allen
Dave has 15 years experience in the IT industry and extensive knowledge of networks (LAN AND WAN), printers and terminals. Dave joined Compel in July 2002.
Experience/duties:
- Microsoft Windows 95 / 98 / NT / 2000 / XP installation and configuration.
- Linux installation and configuration including SCO
- PC Hardware servicing
- Service of inkjet printers & laser printers
- Network and Cisco Router set-up and configuration
Office Manager – Raewyn Jarrett (Part Time)
Started with Compel in 2002 on a part time basis.
- General accountancy operation (MYOB accounting package)
- Debtor Management
- Customer Service
- Reception
Further specialist staff will be employed to meet the needs of the growing business.
