Compel’s System Engineers have a wide range of expertise and experience in computers and networking, as well as specialist skills in laptop and printer repairs and servicing.

Between them they have over 100 years experience in the computer industry. Many of our staff have had corporate experience and have now chosen to work in a smaller team where strong client relationships are important.

Manager & Managing Director - Fraser Magee

Fraser took over the business in April 2002. Fraser came to Compel with over 20 years experience in the IT sector in Hamilton, after beginning his working life as an Electronics Technician, spending 3 years in sales with large national Computer Reseller, and 12 years at the New Zealand Dairy Group, as the Technical Infrastructure Manager.

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Fraser is responsible for and manages the business on a day-to-day basis.
• He is responsible for setting the direction and leading the organisation to fulfilling it's business objectives.

Sales & Technical Director – Graeme Arlidge

Starting in sales, Graeme has a wealth of experience having run his own IT business in Hamilton for over 20 years. Graeme combined his business, sales, and technical expertise with Compel in October 2007 and can now provide a greater wealth of experience and support to all our clients.

• Graeme is responsible for Sales and Marketing
• Technical Direction and Consistency

Service Co-ordinator & Printer Engineer - Martin Lambert

Started with Compel in November 2002, after spending 25 years with Unisys Ltd on assignments from Field Engineer to Technical Support to Escalation Management in the global environment.

Experience/duties:

• Repair and servicing of all brands of printers including Hewlett Packard, Oki, QMS, Panasonic, Citoh, Canon, Brother, Lexmark, Epson, and Intermec specialist printers
• Printer types include Laser, Dot Matrix, Inkjet printers, and Thermal printers
• Repair and service of plotters
• Repair and servicing of Oki faxes

Senior Systems Engineer – Michael Pook

Michael started with Compel in March 1999 after working with other local companies.

Experience/duties:

• Network design and implementation
• Novell NetWare versions 2.2 to 6 and GroupWise messaging
• Microsoft Windows and Terminal Services networking
• Linux Support
• Software development using Borland Paradox
• Web page developer

Senior Systems Engineer – Russell Stark

Russell has had many years in the hospitality industry and joined Compel late 2003, after completing Comptia A+, Network+, and NZQA L3 Computing. He is a Microsoft Certified Professional.

Experience/duties:

• Microsoft Windows 3.1 / 3.11 / 95 / 98 / NT / 2000 / XP installation and configuration.
• PC Hardware servicing
• Specialist in virus and spyware removal
• Network set-up and configuration

Senior Systems Engineer – Frazer Thompson

Frazer started with Compel in August 2007 after resigning as Technical Director from another IT Firm.

Experience/duties:

• Rack Design and Implementation
• Windows Server 2000 & 2003 MCSE
• Microsoft SQL Server 2000 DBA
• Extensive experience with Exchange and Terminal Server
• Linux Firewall build and implementation

Dave has 15 years experience in the IT industry and extensive knowledge of networks (LAN AND WAN), printers and terminals. Dave joined Compel in July 2002.

Kane has 5 years experience in the IT industry. Support-based roles (helpdesk and on-site) and general PC servicing roles.
